Kibingo Intenso – Burundi
A vibrant and fruit-forward coffee from the Kibingo washing station in Burundi’s Kayanza region. Grown by smallholder farmers at high altitudes, this Red Bourbon lot offers bright berry sweetness, notes of honey and citrus, and a refined black tea finish. A clean, juicy cup with plenty of complexity.
What makes this coffee stand out is the Intenso yeast fermentation process. Unlike traditional washed coffees, which ferment for around 12 hours, this lot undergoes an extended 96-hour fermentation using specially selected LALCAFÉ INTENSO™ yeast. The controlled fermentation helps unlock brighter fruit notes, enhanced sweetness and clarity, while preserving the coffee’s origin character. The result is a cleaner, more expressive cup with elevated acidity and aromatic depth.
