A bold and fruit-driven coffee from the historic Butegana washing station in Burundi’s Kayanza region. Produced from high-grown Red Bourbon, this dry natural lot delivers a vibrant and expressive cup with pronounced fruit sweetness, layered complexity and a rich, juicy character.
The standout feature is the Intenso yeast fermentation, designed to elevate clarity and fruit intensity. Whole coffee cherries are fermented for approximately 36 hours using LALCAFÉ INTENSO™ yeast before drying on raised beds. This controlled fermentation enhances sweetness, brightness and complexity while helping preserve a clean cup profile — something often harder to achieve in natural coffees. The dry natural process, where the coffee dries inside the fruit, adds depth, body and ripe fruit character, creating a fuller and more expressive flavour experience.
